IPC - Injury Prevention Class

This class focuses on safeguarding you against future injuries. We do this by activating and strengthening muscles to stabilise your joints and then teach you how to move your body correctly in common every day movements. This class will be slow, controlled, suitable for all ages and a must for everyone wanting the most out of their bodies.

ROXY KELLY FITNESS TRAINER

Roxy Kelly (AKA Roxey the Roar Kelly) – Roxey has played a variety of sports including representing Australia in fencing and mixed martial arts from a very young age (and if you ask her, she’s still young! at heart anyway) and now competes in body building and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Roxey believes that training is for everyone at every level of fitness and every stage in life. Roxy now includes nutrition coaching to help her clients reach their goals whether it’s sports performance, fat loss or muscle gain.

JOEL A ELBAG FITNESS TRAINER

Joel A Elbag has been in the health and fitness industry since 1984 when he got his first job at a gym behind reception in a small club in southern California. He became a personal trainer in 1987 and began a career in PT and he still does PT today. In 1992, he became one of the original “Spinning” instructors and has been teaching spin/cycle for over 20 years.

His career started in Orange County, California and has spanned all over the globe from owning and managing health clubs from Los Angeles to New York where he trained many of your favorite high profile celebrities and professional athletes for upcoming film and television roles or for upcoming basketball seasons. Training celebrities opened even more doors for his career as that led to writing featured articles for Women’s Health, Men’s Fitness, LA/NY Times, Cycling and Australian Institute of Sport.

Joel moved with his family to Sydney 10 years ago and gave up his career to be a stay at home father and never felt more fulfilled in his life. He continued to teach classes on occasion and has been teaching and training all over Sydney since. He enjoys teaching spin and has a vast background in cycling as he tries to enter the road cyclist mentality to bring those experiences from the road indoors as it brings another dynamic for the member to focus on. Cycling is a great sport that is not only good exercise but also good for the environment as well as a source for power and can be a lot of fun.

Joel is also a high school basketball coach and the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the St Augustine’s College basketball program and the Assistant Coach to the 1st’s team for the past two years. He also coaches at Roseville College, Roseville and has head coaching duties for the college 2nd’s. He also has both head coach and assistant coaching duties for Manly Warringah Basketball Association at the representative level. But his biggest and most rewarding job throughout his entire career has been being a dad to his son, Lucas!

Cameron (AKA The Guns – Cameron is a passionate and driven personal trainer certified by the Australian Institute of Fitness. Cameron has led an active lifestyle playing a variety of sports including rugby league, rugby union and waterpolo. TYLER SCHREURS ACCREDITED EXERCISE SCIENTIST

Tyler is an accredited Exercise Scientist from Otago University of New Zealand. He spent his studies focusing on the mechanisms of injury, how to reduce the occurrence and rehabilitation. The best way to describe Tyler is the middle man between a Physiotherapist and a Personal Trainer. Once a Physiotherapist gets the pain to a manageable place, Tyler identifies the weaknesses and creates specific exercises  to rebalance and strengthen the body.

SONIA FORATA FITNESS TRAINER

Following a motorbike accident in her early twenties Sonia Forato found her path to wellness through Pilates and exercise. With massive injuries hospitalising her for 18 months, many surgeries and a likelihood she wouldn’t be able to move without a lot of pain Sonia sought answers with pilates and exercise. 20 years later and Sonia has been teaching fitness full-time with a passion for injury prevention and helping her clients build their strength and reach their fitness goals.

YVETTE DE STOOP

Growing up as a country girl, Yvette embodies a grounded attitude through her work as a fitness model and fitness instructor that enhances her approach to all areas of life.

Finding her niche as a fitness model, Yvette has comprehensive experience across all media platforms, frequently appears on television programs such as Sunrise, The Morning Show, Mornings, Today Extra and Studio 10. This compliments her many other campaign work for brands such as Rebel Sport, Running Bare, New Balance, Nike, Adidas, Anytime Fitness, Fitness First, Body+Soul and many other health focussed brands.

Assigned the personal body-double for Michelle Bridges, Yvette has appeared across many major campaigns both with Michelle Bridges and also as her body double. Working along side Commando Steve and Michelle, Yvette has had the pleasure of merging her fitness modelling and fitness instructing together.

Yvette’s success as a fitness model is a bi-product of her passion for a fit and healthy lifestyle. With an appreciation for all genres of fitness, Yvette found her love and drive for Pilates. Understanding the importance of building a strong core, good posture and strength, Yvette sees Pilates as the corner stone that will enhance all areas of health, life and training.

Developing her practice to encompass all elements such as Mat Pilates, Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chair, BARRE Attack and Body Balance. Yvette’s infectious personality and dedication is the defining factor that inspires people to be transformed from the inside out. According to Yvette, “Health originates from the inside not the outside – inner strength and resilience are what counts.”

Show casing her zest for life, Yvette is the “Fitness & Lifestyle Advocate Ambassador” at Fitness U, (Australia’s leading online college of personal trainers). This honorable mentoring position means she can encourage other health professionals along their journey to inspiring others towards a healthier existence.

Amid her fitness career Yvette, continued to expand her skillset by completing a degree in a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, majoring in Journalism at The University of Technology, Sydney.
Displaying her outgoing warm personality, Yvette was a key character on Channel 7’s reality TV show Please Marry My Boy. She also represented Australian in Hong Kong for Miss Princess Model of the World, in 2004 where she was runner up.
